BC Parks Response to COVID-19:

As of :

Welcome to another camping season in BC Parks. Every successful trip starts with a great plan. That plan is a little bit different again this year as we all do our best to stay healthy during COVID-19. See bcparks.ca/covid-19 for details.

This year, British Columbians have priority access to camping reservations for the entire summer season. Reservations can be made starting March 8 for May 8 arrivals, and can be booked up to two months in advance from there on. Find out when you can book at each park at bcparks.ca/operating dates/. Policy information for 2021 can be found at bcparks.ca/covid-19/camping-2021. For those of you coming from out of province, reservations start July 8, 2021 for the remainder of the season.

We want to see you back at your favourite park, but mostly we want you to have a safe and healthy summer, so plan ahead to make the most of it.

Frontcountry Camping Reservation Information

Some policies listed here may be different for the 2021 camping season. See bcparks.ca/covid-19 for details.

Reservation Rules

Full pre-payment of all camping fees and reservation charges is required to secure a reservation. Reservation holders must be at least 16 years of age and are responsible for the actions of all party members.

Reservations for campsites can be made up to four (4) months in advance of your arrival date. If your reservation is made within the first week of this window (the "restricted booking period"), you are not permitted to make changes to your arrival date. For example, the restricted booking period for an August 1st arrival date is April 1-7.

Frontcountry camping reservations and modifications cannot be accepted less than 2 days prior to your arrival date in most cases.

Reservations are not transferable. Any reservation holders found to be transferring or selling their reservations to another party, risk their reservation being cancelled without a refund. If a customer can no longer use their reservation, they are encouraged to cancel it so that any unused camping fees that are not forfeited as a penalty, can be refunded to the credit card that was used to make the original reservation.

Customers will be required to provide one or two permit holder names that cannot be changed at a later date. At least one of the permit holders must be present during the stay and identification may be required to keep the reservation valid.

Check-in time is 1 PM. Check-out time is 11 AM.

Arriving at the park with more people or vehicles than stated in your reservation may result in addition fees, or unavailability of additional accommodation

Refunds are not given for an eviction, vacating your campsite early, or inclement weather.

Camping Fees and Reservation Charges

Camping fees vary by park. Please refer to individual park webpages or the fee schedule [PDF] for details. Camping fees include parking for one vehicle. Additional vehicle fees can be prepaid in conjunction with a reservation (subject to space availability).

You can have up to 3 reservations in your cart; however, each reservation is processed separately. A reservation charge applies to each reservation in addition to camping fees and other park-user fees.

The Seniors Discount and the Social Services Camping Fee Exemption may apply to camping fees but do not apply to reservation charges.

Accepted payment types include: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Visa Debit, and Mastercard Debit.

Camping Party Size

A camping party is defined as: 1– 4 persons 16 years of age or older and up to a maximum of 8 persons including children 15 years of age and younger. Only one camping party per campsite is permitted, unless otherwise authorized in the park.

Camping reservation holders are responsible for the actions of all camping party members and any visitors to their campsite.

Detailed Camping Party Definition

Double Sites

Some campgrounds offer double sites that are specifically designed to allow two camping parties to camp in close proximity to one another. A double site still provides the same facilities as individual sites, but most double sites share a driveway and are more open to one another than single campsites.

Double sites must be reserved together until one (1) week prior to your arrival date. If at that time, the sites remain available, the two sites can be booked individually.

One reservation charge applies for the two sites when reserved together, but separate reservation charges apply when the sites are reserved individually.

Minimum Stay for Statutory Holiday Weekends

To make a reservation for a statutory holiday weekend, you are required to book a minimum of 3 nights.
  • When a statutory holiday falls on a Friday, the minimum stay is Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights.
  • When a statutory holiday falls on a Monday, the minimum stay is Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights.
  • When a statutory holiday falls on any other day, no minimum stay applies.

Changes, Cancellations and Refunds

Only the person whose name is on the reservation has access to change or cancel it.
