Your donation includes the supply, installation, a customized plaque, and 10 years of any maintenance required on the facility. After the 10 year period, you will be provided the opportunity to re-sponsor the facility and purchase another maintenance term. Depending on the condition of the facility, any necessary maintenance (or replacement) would be completed at that time.

In which park can I sponsor?

Sponsorship opportunities exist in many provincial parks, and we invite all requests. Unfortunately we are not able to accommodate all requests, for example, where parks have reached capacity for benches or in remote locations. Location requests are assessed by our park staff based on a number of factors such as the need or added value of the facility (i.e. public enjoyment), suitable climate, available space, as well as other operational factors such as maintenance costs and potential for vandalism. Other site considerations may come into play as well which at times may trigger the need for an impact assessment to be completed on a proposed location. If we are not able to accommodate your original request, we may be able to suggest some alternative locations that may work.

How do I sponsor?

After you have reviewed the above information and decided on what you would like to sponsor, and where…

  • Contact BC Parks’ Project Administrator. BC Parks will confirm with our regional staff that your requested location is available.
  • Once we have approved your sponsorship, the donation can be made using our Secure Payment Form. You will receive an official tax receipt for your donation.
  • Once payment is received, BC Parks’ staff will initiate installation of your sponsored facility and keep you informed of the estimated date of completion.

Plaques and Inscriptions

A bronze-casted or stainless steel plaque (depending on the climate) will be placed on the bench or picnic table.

Plaques are a standard size (2 inches by 6 inches) which allow for three lines of text, each with a maximum of 26 characters, including spaces and punctuation.

You can use the following tool to show if your chosen inscription will fit within the space. The font shown is a sample only. The actual font on the plaque will be Century Gothic.
